Article #5: Global Aging and Overpopulation

The aging problem is that elderly people are surpassing the younger people. Taking care of elder people is costly. There are solutions to solve this problem. Paid work contributes not only to material well-being but also to psychological well-being through social interactions and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Unpaid work like volunteering can also provide the same psychological benefits. Encouraging paid and unpaid work to the elderly could be an important part of the solution to the aging challenges. There should also be a retirement scheme allowing the elderly to reduce their working hours yet still remain in the workforce and pay taxes until a later age and reward them for their voluntary work. Older workers can even train younger workers because of their experience and still get paid.
If i was in charge of a national task force, I would look for a way to provide leisurely jobs for the elderly. I would also provide a senior houses for which their family members would be paying an affordable amount every three months to take care of the elderly. I would also urge the community to help in taking care of the elderly.

Overpopulation results from an increase in births, a decline in mortality rates,or an increase in immigration. There are solutions for overpopulation which are spreading awareness and education about overpopulation, enacting birth control measures and also providing general access to birth control devices and family planning should be involved too. For example, In China, the government has policies that regulate the number of children allowed to a couple and some people are suggesting to the United Nations to make the policy global and reduce overpopulation.

Article #4: Man Arrested after Twitter Threats are made against U.S Senators

Man Arrested

A federal judge has banned a Virginia man from using Twitter after he was charged from making threats directed at Republican senators and other congress members using the social media platform. Kyler Schmitz of Alexandria has been charged in Virginia's District Court with making threats against two senators. "i'm going to shoot you in the head for allowing someone murder my loved ones", he reportedly tweeted to one senator, according to a federal complaint. "i'm literally going to shoot you in the face I watch your brains splat #BangBangByeB---", another tweet reportedly said. Schmitz posted the tweet using the handle @ChirPerson, said federal officials. The account has also been suspended. Schmitz's fiancĂ© told NBC Washington that the tweets weren't serious but satirical. Canciolo told the Washington Post that he stands by that assessment and that the couple will defend Schmitz in court. An attorney for Schmitz did not comment.During a bond hearing Tuesday, Judge Theresa Buchanan ordered Schmitz to stay from the District and barred him from using twitter. The judge also ordered Schmitz to undergo mental-health testing and treatment. The judge also allowed him to be released as long as he gets approval for movement outside his name.Since Schmitz is an Uber driver, prosecutors say he's allowed to use internet access for online banking, Google maps and Uber website. An Uber spokesman said he was cut off from the company as soon as they heard the allegations.
People need to be careful of what they say because anything you say can be used against you. Whether this was serious or not, he has no right to threaten anyone with a gun. Schmitz should be banned from twitter and the District to avoid damage. He should also stop working with Uber to avoid any killings or fear of passengers.

Article #3: Everything You Need To Know About Shark Attacks As Told By Graphs

Shark Attack
The twin shark attacks that left two teens injured in North Carolina on Sunday are just the latest in a rising number of shark attacks to send fear through the hearts ocean lovers.Data collected by the Florida Museum of Natural History at the University of Florida has broken down more than a century's worth of shark attack data to put the most recent attacks in perspective.

Like the most recent cases in North Carolina, the vast majority of attacks result in non-fatal injuries, the data shows.
Researchers had difficulty nailing down the exact number of injuries and fatalities that each species of shark was responsible for because victims have trouble remembering accurate details about their attacks. That said, they were able to determine that the vast majority of sharks that attacked humans were great white sharks, followed by tiger sharks and then bull sharks.
All told, there were at least 27 different types that had been identified in attacks over the past 434 years.Shark attacks have been reported across the globe but, as the following map shows, the continental U.S. has served as the most frequent attack grounds.
While North Carolina has had at least three reported attacks in the past week, the state is tied for fifth place when it comes to the most frequent attack spot globally.Though the latest formalized data only covered through last year, California and North Carolina were tied in fifth, preceded by Florida, Australia , Hawaii and South Carolina respectively.
I think this summer, ocean lovers should be very careful of sharks.

Article #2: Ghana's Fat-Shamed Bride Inspires Thousands

Link to article #2: Ghana's Inspiration

If you're a frequent social media follower, you would have noticed Mzznaki Tetteh. She is a nurse from Ghana whose engagement photos went viral on social media media platforms which left people commenting on her figure.
Some left comments like, "He must have a BIG heart" and "RIP that man's spine". Tetteh was defiant in her response. She addressed the trolls by saying, "rubbish comments ain't ruining my happiness".
And she let them know she has far more important things to celebrate.

However, following the wide sharing of the images, those sentiments have been followed by supportive comments. She was hailed as an inspiration.
Tetteh is now a social media star with over 30,000 Instagram followers and her own media manager. It's not possible to send her a Facebook request-she's that popular. And she's been trending again on Facebook. It's following her first television appearance on Joy News' Israel Laryea. While the majority of social media users hailed her as an inspiration, others thought the attention she was gaining was inappropriate.
Tetteh, who is preparing for her wedding on June 25th, told BBC Trending that she is trying to lose weight for own health reasons and not to appease her trolls. "Some years ago in Ghana a woman who was plump was considered beautiful," she said "In fact many songs have been sung in praise of such women. It was not a big deal to see chubby children and they were not treated differently. But times have changed with the internet and foreign films."
"Slim or slender ladies are seen as more beautiful and gradually plus-size women and even men are body shamed. These current development puts a lot of stress on plump ladies like myself. It eats away your self confidence and your sense of worth to the point where your size becomes a disability." She says she now looks past the negativity, with the support of her loving family and can't wait for her wedding.
Like people always say, do not judge a book by its cover. Every woman is beautiful in their own  shape, colour or size. It's not fair to judge women by their sizes. Judging them would only make them feel bad about themselves. Focus on the positivity and look past the negativity.
